Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix...***MIGHT BE SPOILERS***

Saw it. Loved it. Wished they'd left a few things from the book in that they took out, but...over all I was happy with it. I just really dig this series, and I think it was well done. What did I not like?

Dolores Umbridge : thought she lacked a certain "something" that the written character had. Though, like the written character, she had absolutely NO redeeming qualities and you NEVER feel sorry for her, I still thought something was missing.

Harry not being chosen Prefect : this disturbed me, because it added so much to the book, that Ron was chosen and Harry wasn't.

Where was the Percy Weasley subplot?? Seeing Percy in Dumbledore's office with Fudge really made no sense, and unless the audience read the book they didn't even know who he was!

How about the whole "Quidditch" subplot? Not that I missed it as much as some, but I think the flying effects of Quidditch matches are really cool...and the whole Ron becomes Keeper thing was pretty neat in the book (not to mention Harry and the Weasley twins being banned from playing Quidditch for life....not even a mention of that in the movie).

I like Dobby...where was he??

I was looking forward to seeing St Mungo's....but was disappointed that I didn't.

What was cool about it?

The Ministry of Magic.
The Department of Mysteries
Voldemort/Dumbledore
Grawp
Effects -- visual, special, etc
Thestrals
Seeing the flashbacks to prior movies and seeing how much those kids have grown!
It was a freaking Harry Potter movie!!

I give it ****1/2 because I wish they'd put some more in it, but it was already 2.5 hours long!!

GO SEE THE MOVIE. I dug it.

PS
I think that little filmstrip guy (AMC) is so CUTE!! Like a little pet!! :)

It's been a long time since I read the book. Is St Mungo's the hospital? Why do they go there? Doesn't Neville have some sort of revelation there?

I won't get to see the movie until we come back from vacation on the 26th. I guess I should review the book first.
